Monash graduates win prestigious scholarships

Two Monash scholars have been awarded Cambridge Australia scholarships to study for their PhD degrees at Cambridge University.

Ms Nerissa Hannink and Ms Kaele Stokes are among the most recent 13 Australian graduates of outstanding academic merit to have received these awards, worth about $50,000 per year.

Ms Stokes, who currently is completing a masters degree at Cambridge, will continue towards a PhD in Nordic studies.

Ms Hannik, from the Microbiology department, will study biotechnology for her doctorate.

During the past 12 years, the Cambridge Trust has supported more than 200 Australian students, including 16 from Monash, in their postgraduate studies at Cambridge.
