Monash researcher Professor Bill Charman has become the first Australian pharmaceutical scientist to be awarded the Glaxo Wellcome International Achievement Award in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
The award is made by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain to a scientist from anywhere in the world who has substantially advanced scientific knowledge within the pharmaceutical sciences.
Professor Charman said the award recognises the outcomes from the creative effort and dedicated work of his research team at the Pharmacy College.
"It also demonstrates the significant and international standing of the drug delivery, drug development and formulation science research being undertaken at the college," he said.
As part of the award, Professor Charman has been invited to present a lecture at this month's British Pharmaceutical Conference.
