Sex Discrimination Act 15th Anniversary Dinner

A celebration of equality was the focus of the Sex Discrimination Act 15th Anniversary Dinner, held at the Hotel Sofitel on Wednesday 10 November.

Monash sponsored its own corporate table and invited Faculty Affirmative Action Committee convenors as a token of thanks for the work they had undertaken.

Speakers at the dinner included all past and present Sex Discrimination Commissioners, who used the event to highlight the Commission's latest report, Pregnant and Productive.

Pay brought forward for Y2K

Monash staff will be paid on 31 December 1999 for the period 1 January to 14 January 2000 as part of the university's Y2K risk minimisation plan.

While the university systems and the SAP payroll module have been thoroughly tested for Y2K compliance, the pay scheduled for 13 January has been brought forward to ensure that any more widespread problems do not prevent payment of Monash staff.

Any changes to staff members' pay details such as bank accounts or requests for pay in advance should be sent to Personnel Services as early as possible, to ensure inclusion for this pay.

A partial pay run will still occur on 13 January 2000 to pay casual and sessional staff and staff re-appointed late who miss the pay run for 31 December 1999.
