Monash Achievement Awards
Eligibility
To be eligible, you must be:
-
an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa, and
-
a continuing undergraduate student, and
-
enrolled in a domestic full-fee place at a Monash campus in Australia.
Selection criteria
Eligible students must have normally completed 48 credit points of study and achieved the following weighted average mark in the course in which they are enrolled:

Art and Design – 60 per cent

Arts – 60 per cent
-
Business and Economics – 65 per cent*

Education – 60 per cent
-
Engineering – 60 per cent
-
Information Technology – 60 per cent
-
Law – 70 per cent**
-
Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences – 70 per cent
– Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery – a Monash Achievement Award will only be awarded if a Commonwealth-supported place becomes available within the set quota and if the student has received excellent marks.

Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences – 70 per cent

Science:
– Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Environmental Science and all Faculty of Science courses at the Gippsland campus – 60 per cent
– Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Computer Science – 70 per cent
– Bachelor of Science Advanced with Honours – 80 per cent
* At least 36 of the 48 credit points must be successfully completed in the Faculty of Business and Economics.
** The required weighted average mark must be achieved in units specific to the Faculty of Law.
Value
Transfer from a domestic full-fee place to a Commonwealth-supported place for the remainder of the degree.
Number available in 2010
Variable, depending on the availability of Commonwealth-Supported Places in each faculty.
Applications
All domestic undergraduate students in full-fee places will be automatically assessed.
Offers
Offers are made in December/January and in July/August, depending on the availability of Commonwealth-Supported Places in each faculty.
Deferability
This award cannot be deferred.
