Business Information Systems Industry Based Learning ScholarshipEligibilityTo be eligible, you must be:
* Students who have taken a ‘gap year’ after year 12 and have obtained the required ENTER score for admittance into the Bachelor of Business Information Systems degree, are also eligible to apply. Selection criteriaThe Industry-Based Learning (IBL) scholarship is awarded based on an interview conducted by the industry partners of the IBL program. The selection criteria include good communication skills, maturity, enthusiasm, initiative, leadership qualities, extra-curricular interests and participation, academic performance, exposure to paid work and career interests. Number available in 2010In 2010, there will be up to 40 IBL scholarships awarded. About half of these will be offered to Year 12 students in December 2009 prior to the VTAC Change of Preference period. The remainder of the scholarships will be released to current Monash students towards the end of their first year of study in the degree. RetentionRecipients must maintain full-time enrolment and a minimum weighted average mark of 65 per cent. The full-time enrolment requirement can only be waived at the discretion of the IBL Director. OffersApproximately 50 students will be invited to an interview on 17 December 2009. Interview results will be available on 18 December 2009, so that the first group of students will be offered an IBL scholarship prior to admission to the degree. Students interested in this first release of IBL scholarships will need to list the Bachelor of Business Information Systems at Monash University as a preference in their VTAC application. DeferabilityThis scholarship cannot be deferred. ApplicationsApplications for Year 12 students must be submitted directly to the Clayton School of Information Technology.. The Faculty of Information Technology may send out an invitation to current Monash students who meet the initial selection criteria, inviting them to apply for the program.
