Monash Rural Housing Bursary

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be:

• an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa, and
• a commencing student, and
• from a regional and remote area, and
• intending to enrol full-time in an undergraduate degree at a Monash campus in Australia.

Selection criteria

Awarded to eligible students on the basis of need. Preference will be given to students who are also from one or more of Monash University’s defined equity or personal disadvantage groups.

Value and number available

$4800 per annum for one year only. In 2011, 40 bursaries were available.

Retention

Recipients must maintain full-time enrolment and a minimum of a pass weighted average mark (50 per cent) in semester one.

Deferability

This bursary cannot be deferred.
