MNHS International Travel Bursary

Eligibility

To be eligible, applicants must be:

• an international student and the holder of a temporary protection or bridging visa (E), or
• a sponsored international student (e.g AIDAB), and
• a continuing student enrolled full time in an undergraduate degree in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at a Monash campus in Australia, and
• undertaking an elective placement in a disadvantaged community or developing country*.

*Cannot be the applicant's country of citizenship.

Selection criteria

Selection of candidates will be on the basis of:

• the merit of the proposed work program in the seriously disadvantaged community (as determined by the selection committee)
• the quality of the written submission, in which students will be expected to demonstrate how the financial assistance of the bursary would assist with the budgeted cost of undertaking the elective.
• academic achievement

Value and number available

$2000 one off payment. The number available is variable depending on funding.

Deferment

This bursary cannot be deferred.
