Walter and Eliza Hall Trust Opportunity Scholarship

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be:

• an Australian citizen, and
• have satisfactorily completed first-year studies in, and be currently enrolled full-time in an approved Commonwealth-supported place degree majoring in the areas of either social work or nursing at a Monash campus in Australia, and
• able to demonstrate financial disadvantage.

Selection criteria

Awarded to the highest achieving eligible students based on a combination of academic achievement and need.

Value

$6000 per annum for one year only.

Number available in 2010

Two. One for a student enrolled in a social work degree and one for a student enrolled in a nursing degree.

Retention

Recipients must maintain full-time enrolment and a minimum of a credit weighted average mark (60 per cent).
