Zyga and Diana Elton Coursework Scholarships

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be:

  • an Australian or New Zealand citizen or holder of an Australian permanent resident visa or permanent humanitarian visa, or
  • an international student, and
  • enrolled in either an honours degree or the Master of Arts in Judaic Studies in the Faculty of Arts at a Monash campus in Australia.

Students must be enrolled in at least one Jewish studies unit and be writing a thesis in the field of Jewish civilisation, which is supervised by staff from the Australian Centre for Jewish Civilisation.

Selection criteria

Awarded to the highest achieving eligible students with a minimum of a distinction weighted average mark (70 per cent). Financial disadvantage may also be taken into consideration.

Value

$4000 per 48 credit points of study, for the duration of the degree.

Number available in 2010

Two. One for an honours student and one for a masters student.

Retention

Recipients must maintain a minimum of a distinction weighted average mark (70 per cent) in semester one.

Deferability

This scholarship cannot be deferred.
