Shared Services at Monash

Our strategic document, Monash Directions 2025, includes the goal of Excellence in management to support the goals of Excellence in research and scholarship and Excellence in education.

To achieve Excellence in management, Monash will:

  • ensure that management processes are efficient, accountable and transparent
  • develop an explicit approach to the management of Monash as a matrix of campuses and faculties
  • foster a consultative and collegial approach to management whilst maintaining administrative efficiency
  • continue to improve information management including upgrading information technology systems
  • ensure that all proposals for new initiatives are accompanied by rigorous financial plans and risk analyses
  • ensure that the quality of support services for students and staff are excellent

DEST has provided the University with funds under a Workplace Productivity Programme to review and make operational improvements to service provision.

In April 2007, the University Vice Chancellors Group agreed to commence design and implementation of a new Shared Services model for ICT at Monash.

In May, 2008 the Vice Chancellor's Group (VCG) and the Strategy and Resources Committee (SRC) approved the proposed recommendations.
