"Staff have a legal obligation to provide a learning environment free of direct and indirect discrimination"

From the Office of the Vice-Chancellor

Monash University has many faces - 35% of our students were born overseas, 31% of all students at Monash speak a language other than English at home. We are proud of our reputation as Australia's international university and we are proud of our cultural diversity.

As outlined in Leading the Way, Monash 2020, the emphasis on building an outstanding, modern teaching and learning environment reflects the University's desire to ensure that a Monash education equips its graduates to be leaders both intellectually and professionally. This means offering students a learning environment which is free of direct and indirect discrimination. It also means offering students a learning environment which enables them to grow intellectually and contribute to economic, social and cultural prosperity in a global context.

Given our diverse student body and our commitment to international education we believe it is important to keep updating and improving our strategies to promote a better learning environment for all Monash students. This website is but one of the many strategies we employ to ensure quality teaching for all.
