Q4: Ranges: Designed to test your knowledge of Naming cell ranges

fig 4-1

There are 3 ranges shown. Select the correct method of naming these ranges

  A3:A6, B2:E2, C4:E6

Q5: Formulae: Designed tol test your knowledge of formulae.

fig 4-1

In cell B8 there is a formulae that totals the sales figures for the month of january for the years 2001 to 2004.
The best way to do this is entering a formulae (choose from the list) in cell B8.

  =total(2001+2002+2003+2004)
  Add(2001+2002+2003+2004)
  =sum(b3:b6)
  =total(b3:b6)
  None of the above

Q6: Formulae FILL & cell referencing: Designed to test Absolute & Relative referencing

When we need to repeat an operation (example: total the columns for the Jan, Apr, Jul & Oct) we enter the formulae for 1 column and then use a fill operation to copy the cell formulae to another location. The formulae will be altered to reflect its new location unless we use absolute referencing to name the cells.

In this example we wish to create a formulae for the month of "Jan" that totals the sales figures as before and also adds the value in cell "A1" to the result.
We will then copy this formulae to cells C8, D8, E8 using the fill operation.

I don't have a clue

The formulae in cell B8 could be

  =SUM(B3:B7) + $A$1
  SUM(B3:B7) + A$1
  =FILL(B3:B7) + 100
  =B3+B4+b5+b6 + $A$1
  =TOTAL(B3:B7) + $A$1
  =ABSOLUTE(B3:B7) + 100

Q7: Using Formulae: Designed to test the application of simple formulae.

Note: The formulae in cell B8 is the sum of cells B3 to B6 AND includes the number in cell A1.
The formulae must be entered and then the FILL operation used to copy the formulae from cell B8
to cells C8, D8 & E8.

Use the appropiate formulae to find the Average, Maximum and Minimum values as shown. You may need to use EXCEL HELP.
Use the FILL operation to copy the formulae to other cells as required.

I don't have a clue

I have completed the exercise.

Q8: Using Charts: Designed to test the creation of simple charts.

Create the charts shown. You will need to open Excel and enter the data shown.
Select the range A2 to E6 and then use the Standard toolbar to initiate the Chart Wizard.
