SPSS and AMOSSPSSSPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) is a powerful, but user friendly program for analyzing data. Structural equation modelling (SEM) is a multivariate statistical approach which incorporates the elements of factor analysis, path analysis and regression. It is used to assess relationships among a set of variables which can be directly observed (manifest variables) or hypothesized (latent variables). About the Presenter: Dr Julie Pallant is the author of the SPSS Survival Manual: A step by step guide to data analysis using SPSS . She is currently Director of Research and Graduate Studies at the School of Rural Health, University of Melbourne. Previously she was a Senior Lecturer in research design, statistics and the use of SPSS at Swinburne University, School of Mathematicial Sciences, and has had extensive experience in the supervision of postgraduate research projects.
