Overview

This program has been designed to assist supervisors and managers of academic staff to develop the necessary knowledge and skills to manage the disciplinary procedures which relate to academic staff.

The program will address:

  • the skills necessary to manage disciplinary issues prior to the application of any formal processes that may be taken at a later date;
  • the knowledge and skills necessary to apply the relevant provisions of the Monash University Enterprise Agreement (Academic & General Staff) 2000.

Course Content

The program will provide opportunities fro participants to raise issues of interest and/or concern for discussion and clarification.

Practical case studies will be used to underpin the knowledge and skills that are referred to throughout the program.

The program will include:

  • Managing disciplinary issues – let’s look at the skills we need;
  •  Applying the relevant provisions of the Enterprise Agreement.

Handouts

The program will be based on a Handbook titled ‘Academic Staff – Disciplinary Procedures’, produced by Staff Services. A copy of the Handbook will be provided to all participants.
