A one day workshop for team leaders, supervisors, coordinators or those involved in managing staff. The program addresses the following issues

A tool for assessing your work team's functioning. Applying the tool to your own team and creating strategies for improvement

Balancing people's needs and getting the job done - a model for effective team leadership

Strategies for building effective teams

Team building in an environment of change. Understanding the process of change and how it might affect your staff. Strategies for assisting yourself and staff to adjust to change

Six skills for supervising staff. When and how to put them into practice

Dealing with difficulties and performance standards with team members

Developing personal action plans
Intended Outcomes
By the end of the workshop participants will have had the chance:

to reflect on and evaluate their own team

to consider strategies for managing the team and the individuals in it

to have developed some concrete plans of action to take back to the work place
Course Content
Information will be combined with practical activities to enhance learning and application to the participants' own situations.
There will be opportunities for discussion and participants will be helped to reflect on their own teams and their own leadership style.
Use will be made of scenarios, demonstrations, skills training exercises and practice opportunities. At the conclusion of the workshop, participants will develop an Action Plan to help them to implement their learning's back in the work place.
