Overview
This briefing session will outline the parental leave entitlements available to academic and general staff under the Monash University Enterprise Agreement (Academic & General Staff) 2005 and in particular the range of return to work conversion options available to staff.
Intended Outcomes
It is intended that at the end of this session Managers and Supervisors will have a detailed understanding of the parental leave provisions of the Monash University Enterprise Agreement (Academic & General Staff) 2005 and how to apply them.
Course Content
- Types of leave; maternity, adoption, spouse/partner birth leave
- Eligibility requirements for parental leave
- Return to work options/flexible work arrangements
- 38 weeks at 60% pay: conversion options
- Return to work deed
- Parental leave and holidays
Learning Approach
The session will provide opportunities for participants to raise issues of interest and/or concern for discussion and clarification. Practical case studies will be used to underpin the knowledge and skills that are referred to throughout the program
