Overview

This course is specifically designed as a common learning forum for Managers, Supervisors and Health & Safety Representatives covered by Victorian WorkSafe legislation. The course equips you with the essential skills for effectively dealing with occupational health & Safety issues in your workplace.

HSRs – you will gain knowledge and skills that will enable you to effectively represent the members of a designated work group.

Managers & Supervisors – you will better understand your workplace responsibilities and be able to manage health and safety in the workplace.

Intended Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, you will have knowledge on:

  • OHS Legislation, codes/standards and their practical application
  • Roles and responsibilities of key duty holders
  • Identifying, assessing and controlling the risk/hazards in the workplaces
  • Investigating injuries, illnesses and incidents
  • OHS auditing and implementing effective OHS strategies
  • Manual handling and plant safety in the workplace
  • Communicating effectively on health and safety issues


Accredited OHS Representative training exempts participants from the following modules: -
- Hazard & Incident Reporting & Investigation Awareness
- Hazardous Substances & Dangerous Goods Awareness
- Risk Management
- Workplace Safety Inspections
