First Aid co-ordinators, First aiders in medium to high risk departments, as well as selected staff from
low risk areas as determined in consultation with the OHS Consultant to your area.

Overview

This course describes the skills and knowledge required to provide first aid to a casualty(s) in a remote and/or isolated situation.

Course Content

  • Prepare to respond to emergency in a remote situation
  • Provide first aid in a remote situation
  • Work in conjunction with medical and emergency services support
  • Evaluate the incident

Please note that all participants are required to renew their certificate every three years.

Duration*

  • Option 1: 32 hours classroom training and assessment
  • Option 2: 24 hours classroom training and assessment combined with completion of a workbook, hard copy or online
  • Option 3: 24 Hours Classroom training and assessment for holders of current Apply First Aid Certificate
