Overview

This half day workshop focuses on providing professional staff in a managerial or team leader role the skills and knowledge to develop strategies for increasing the effectiveness of their performance conversations with staff towards achieving the desired outcomes.

Course Content

On completion of this workshop, participants should be able to:

  • identify approaches to facilitate performance conversations
  • utilise several different approaches to confidently provide regular, fair and effective feedback to staff
  • respond appropriately to some common reactions to feedback
  • understand the key features of successful performance conversations at work
  • understand the importance of formal and informal feedback in the performance development cycle
  • engage more confidently in the exchange of day to day informal feedback and formal feedback through performance reviews

Learning Approach

The program involves presentation, written materials, small and large group exercises, group discussion and practical examples.
