ResearchMaster (RM) Projects Module - Write Access

Target group:

Research administrative staff who are required to enter research projects data (such as grants, fellowships, donations, contracts, etc.) for their work unit.

Note:  Currently Monash University RM Projects Module Write Access is accorded to central Research Office grants officers only, for the purposes of entering externally-derived funding (internal contributions to an externally funded project's budget are also allowed). However, while entry of faculty-based (internal) scheme applications is forthcoming, there is no timeline for his yet.

Level 1 program:
  • Familiar with the use of Windows operating system
  • Data entry experience is recommended, but not mandatory
  • a ResearchMaster (RM) training database account is required prior to training

Overview

The focus of this workshop is to provide new users of the Research Master Database (RM) with the skills required to be able to enter research projects data using the RM client application. Inherent with this must be an understanding of the various statuses and rules involved in the grants administration process.

Intended Outcomes

  • experience using the Projects Module of the ResearchMaster (RM) client experience
  • familiarity with the ResearchMaster (RM) client application's user interface
  • to be able to run simple queries within the ResearchMaster Database's Projects Module
  • competency in entering the required data into the various screens and fields of the ReseachMaster application's Projects Module

Course Content

On completion of this workshop participants will:

  • have experience entering a grant application record into ResearchMaster's Projects module
  • be able to set user-configurable options and preferences
  • be able to urn simple queries to return Projects data
  • be aware of the significant amount of record-keeping potentially involved in maintaining a grants application record
