Target group:

Research adminstrative staff at school/departmental or faculty level who are required to enter research publications data for their work unit.

Group size:Maximum 12
Level 1 program:
  • Familiar with the use of Windows operating system
  • Data entry experience is recomended, but not mandatory
  • A ResearchMaster (RM) training database account is required prior to training

Overview

The focus of this workshop is to provide new users of the ResearchMaster Database (RM) with the skills required to be able to enter research publications data using the RM client application.

If a user is required to query the data and run reports it is recommended to have a comprehensive understanding of the ResearchMasters Publications Module by completing RM Publications Read Only  workshop. 

Intended Outcomes

  • experience using the Publications Module of the ResearchMaster (RM) client application
  • familiarity with the ResarchMaster (RM) client application's user interface
  • to be able to run simple queries within the ResearchMaster Database's Publications Module
  • to be able to select the appropriate publication category for data entry
  • competency in entering the required data into the various screens and fields of the ResearchMaster application's publications

Course Content

On completion of this workshop participants will:

  • have experience using the Publications Module of the ResearchMaster (RM) client application
  • be able to set user-configurable options and preferences
  • be able to run simple queries to return publications data, within the constraints of a user's access permissions
  • be able to select the appropriate publications category for data entry
  • have experience entering a publications record into ResearchMaster's publications module

  • Hands-on workshop
  • Practice exercises (NB: Please bring along at least one publications record for data entry practice - a "C1" category publication if possible)
