Overview
The focus of this workshop is to provide new users of ResearchMaster's Publication Web Interface (PWI) with the skills required to be able to enter research publications data.
Intended Outcomes
-
experience using ResearchMaster's Publication Web Interface (PWI) application
-
familiarity with the PWI's user interface
-
to be able to run simple queries within ResearchMaster's Publications Module using the search functionality of the PWI
-
to be able to present the data returned from a query in each of the five available formats
Course Content
On completion of this workshop participant will:
-
have experience entering a publications record into ResearchMaster's Publication Web Interface
-
be able to set user-configurable options and preferences
-
be able to select the appropriate publications category for data entry
-
be able to run simple queries to return publications data, within the constraints of a user's access permissions
-
be aware of the five different output formats the PWI offers to present a list of publications data
Note: It is recognised that ResearchMaster's Publications Web Interface is particularly suited to data entry - while querying and reporting is somewhat limited in comparison to the RM4 client application. If flexibility and configurability in devising queries is important to your role - as would be a wider range of reporting and data extraction options - then the ResearchMaster (RM4) Publications Module - Write Access training course may be more suitable for you
