Overview
Induction is the process of helping staff make the transition into a new workplace, a new role or area of responsibility. Managers and supervisors have a critical role to play in assisting new employees gain familiarity with their work environment and acquire a sense of belonging that will build commitment to the University. This Half day program is designed to assist participants to effectively orient and induct new members of staff who join Monash, as well as existing staff making role transitions.
Intended Outcomes
- Understanding of the importance and benefits of induction
- Understanding of the roles and responsibilities of key people in the induction process
- Knowledge of the essential stages of effective induction
- Ability to plan relevant and effective induction training
- Ability to work with administrative staff to coordinate and deliver new employee orientation and induction activities
- Knowledge of University services relevant and useful to new staff
