Mindfulness, in its simplest definition, is a mental discipline involving training attention. Training attention through practices like mediation has been found to have a wide number of applications in the modern day.

Overview

This workshop will explore:

  1. the science, principles and practice of mindfulness
  2. its applications in areas including wellbeing, mental health, and resilience
  3. its role in leadership development
  4. the capacity of mindfulness to enhance information processing, decision making and performance
  5. what can you do as supervisors, to assist in the embedding of the mindfulness practice

Course Content

The workshop will be broken into three parts.

Part 1 - will be an introduction including the background to mindfulness.

Part 2 - will focus on practically implementing mindfulness-based strategies in personal and professional life.

Part 3 - will showcase strategies/tools/techniques that as supervisors you can incorporate into the team to assist in their adoption of mindfulness.
