Overview

Records and Archives Services (RandAS) provides professional advice and tools for better management of university records. This program provides participants with useful information about how they might employ the services offered by RandAS to improve local record keeping practices. Basic records and archives management concepts are reviewed, together with analysis of what it is that record keeping systems do and what it is that electronic document management systems do. Approved university standards and systems, including the Electronic Mail Recordkeeping Protocol and the UCollect record keeping software are noted, as are the consequences of poor record keeping practices. In addition, presenters will discuss how to identify permanent records and transfer them to the University Archives.
