Collaboration and Structural Reform (CSR)

Objectives

The priority areas for Collaboration and Structural Reform funding in 2007 were:

  • Projects resulting in major structural change to improve the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of higher education in Australia, at the level of individual institutions or the higher education sector as a whole. Projects suitable for funding, for example, could involve university amalgamations, rationalisation of campuses and course offerings within an institution, and mergers of universities, faculties or campuses with other education and training providers.
  • Collaborative projects, such as the joint development and delivery of courses by two or more higher education providers.
  • Projects in the areas of mathematics, engineering and the enabling sciences will be given priority in the 2007 funding round.

Previous Funding

Approximately $8.2 million for 13 projects was made available in the 2006 funding round.
