What not to do!

Some of the reasons why grant applications are unsuccessful are as follows:

• The application was not aligned with the objectives of the funding programme and/or did not address key selection criteria.
  
  
• Deadlines were not met.
  
  
• The guidelines in DEST's documentation was not followed.
  
  
• The submission was poorly presented.  This may include problems such as being long winded and unclear or generally not easy to read due to language and/or layout. 
  
  
• Unrealistic budget or not enough detail in the budget
  
  
• Insufficient collaborating partners.
