Why build the School at Monash University?
Monash is a university that is interested in being highly engaged with the community. Monash views the John Monash Science School as an exciting community engagement project that will enhance public and prospective student interest in science in Victoria. This in turn will increase Monash’s contribution to the public good and positive impact on the Victorian economy.
Monash University has an international research profile in all the relevant science disciplines, which will provide John Monash Science School staff and students unparalleled exposure to knowledge creation and problem solving related to important theoretical and practical challenges of our times. Students will be able to learn about new fields of science, all stages of science from research through to commercialisation, and science and technology career options. The partnership with Monash will provide the School’s students and staff with unique opportunities to engage with university teaching and research staff and Monash science, mathematics and technology teaching and research infrastructure.
