Funding positions

Supervisors are advised to consider whether funding is available to meet identified faculty/divisional staffing requirements.

The availability of funds for new or replacement positions should be confirmed by the Head of Department or Financial Delegate of the relevant cost centre. Overall accountability for ensuring that sufficient funding is available will rest with the Head, who should be advised of the estimated full cost of the position, including on costs.

Where required, supervisors should consult with senior HR officers in Human Resources in relation to the costs associated with making an international appointment eg. immigration and relocation expenses (Refer to Travel and removal costs).
