Determine
mode and time fraction of appointment
Faculties and divisions must
determine whether the appointment is to be continuing, fixed-term,
casual or sessional, as well as the time fraction of any continuing
or fixed-term appointment.
The
length of a fixed term appointment is determined by the period for
which the employment is required. The length of each term will vary
according to the particular circumstances. The following is
provided as a general guide only and each case will be treated on
its merits:

Generally
up to a maximum of 3 years. However each case is determined on
its merits and available budget. |

periods of up to 5 years based on the merits of the case and
