Academic staff position

All newly established academic staff positions should be assessed against the Position Classification Standards applicable to 'teaching and research' and 'research only' positions standards applicable to Levels A-E positions.

General staff position

All newly established general staff positions should be evaluated before being advertised. In the case of replacement staff the same salary classification will normally apply if the job responsibilities are substantially the same. If there is a significant change in responsibilities and a different salary classification is sought for the position, a Position Description needs to be evaluated by the appropriate classification committee prior to advertising.
