Annual leave for Academic and General fractional-time staff members
Staff members on fractional-time appointments are entitled to the same period of leave as full-time staff. Fractional time staff must take annual leave at the same fraction they are on when leave is applied for and commences.
Annual leave entitlements are accrued in hours and will be recorded as such or converted to full-time equivalent days. The number of days accrued will be determined by the full-time rate multiplied by the fraction of full-time employment on a general work schedule. Staff that have individual work schedules recorded by Human Resources will accrue leave according to the individual work schedule.
Example 1
A General staff member is currently working at 0.6 fraction, their annual leave accrues as follows: 20 days X 0.6 = 12 days per year or an accrual rate of 5.3836 X 0.6 = 3.23 hours per fortnight
Example 2
An academic staff member currently working at a 0.2 fraction. Their leave will be calculated as follows: 20 X 0.2 = 4 days per year or an accrual rate of 5.56164 X 0.2 = 1.11 hours per fortnight |
