Engagement of Professional staff outside regular contract of employment
Professional staff are appointed by the University Council but are generally employed full-time in a particular Department.
Special circumstances may occasionally necessitate a Head of Department or Head of Administrative Unit seeking to enter into an arrangement with a member of Professional staff to have some University work undertaken outside normal working hours and in a Department other than that in which the staff member is normally employed. For full-time staff this requires the consent of the staff member's Head of Department or Head of Administrative Unit.
Before the proposed engagement is to commence the matter needs to be fully discussed and authorised by Monash HR. Any such engagements must be in accordance with the University's Single Appointment and Additional Duties Policy - refer to additional appointments/duties policy.
