Probation and Confirmation of Academic Appointment
Academic probation is the process by which Monash University is able establish whether there is an appropriate match between the person, the job and the work environment.
At Monash University, all new continuing and fixed-term academic staff appointed up to Level D (Associate Professor or Reader), are subject to a probationary period in accordance with Clause 58 of the Monash University Enterprise Agreement (Academic and Professional Staff) 2009.
The review of a probationary academic staff member's progress during the probationary period is managed through the Academic Performance Development Process and in accordance with the probation and confirmation of academic appointment procedure.
